Four Functions of A Headline

Ever tried to write a headline for a sales letter or a news release?

If you have, then you might already know what the four main functions of headlines are. If not then maybe knowing them will make them easier to write headlines.

And at the same time, hopefully gain you more sales.

Four functions of a headline:

1. It gets the reader's attention.
2. It summarizes or tells about the article.
3. It helps organize the news on the page.
4. It indicates the relative importance of a story.

Do Harvey's headlines on The Ultimate SuperTip page fulfill these functions?

Check it out and grade him!

Paul
