Now it's Pinky & Cicarelli! So What Happened To Jonny?

Pinky stays in Technorati's most popular list but seems like Jonny has packed his bags!

Today I 'd like to continue with yesterday's train of thought on Internet buzz and viral marketing!

We gave some real time examples in both of yesterday's posts.

The one about the Free Ice Coffee offered by Yahoo is a good example of viral marketing and Technorati and the popular searches and tags... are good examples of Internet Buzz.

Both of these though are rather shortlived.

For instance, yahoo.com and Dunkin Donuts is only giving away free ice coffee today so the viral effect will last 24 hours (or less) in this case.

Also, if you consider the buzz indexed by yesterday's most popular searches on Technorati and compare that list with today's list you'll notice more than one entry has changed from yesterday.
Here's today's most popular list in Technorati:

Specifically evident today, is Jonny, the subject of yesterday's blog has disappeared!

Pinky's still there but Jonny seems to have packed his bags.

These are great examples of viral marketing and buzz that constantly changes on the web.

Another example of viral marketing techniques, that are meant to last for extended periods of time, can be found in the free ebook by Harvey Segal called The Ultimate Supertip.

So my friends, today the mystery deepens, and Jonny who no one knows, is now nowhere to be found!

Here today... gone tomorrow!
