What's This Have to Do With Free Ice Coffee?

Where are Jonny, Pinky and Cicarelli are on the Yahoo Buzz Index?

Since we are talking about buzz and viral marketing on the internet... I thought I'd look at Yahoo's Buzz index and see how that list compares with the most popular blog topics as compiled by Technorati and listed in the our previous post.

You'll note that Jonny, Pinky nor Cicarelli among others are not even on the Yahoo list?
Wonder why?

So why don't they match? Why does this list look different than the list on Technorati

Obviously what we are blogging about is not necessarily what we are searching for!

Trying to figure this all out has absolutely nothing to do with The Ultimate Supertip
That is, other than how viral marketing and internet buzz or publicity affects traffic and consequently your sales.

You won't have to worry about this though if you read and implement the tips in The Ultimate SuperTip
Cause it'll explain how to create a buzz and replicate itself without the help of the search engines!

Now it's Pinky & Cicarelli! So What Happened To Jonny?

Pinky stays in Technorati's most popular list but seems like Jonny has packed his bags!

Today I 'd like to continue with yesterday's train of thought on Internet buzz and viral marketing!

We gave some real time examples in both of yesterday's posts.

The one about the Free Ice Coffee offered by Yahoo is a good example of viral marketing and Technorati and the popular searches and tags... are good examples of Internet Buzz.

Both of these though are rather shortlived.

For instance, yahoo.com and Dunkin Donuts is only giving away free ice coffee today so the viral effect will last 24 hours (or less) in this case.

Also, if you consider the buzz indexed by yesterday's most popular searches on Technorati and compare that list with today's list you'll notice more than one entry has changed from yesterday.
Here's today's most popular list in Technorati:

Specifically evident today, is Jonny, the subject of yesterday's blog has disappeared!

Pinky's still there but Jonny seems to have packed his bags.

These are great examples of viral marketing and buzz that constantly changes on the web.

Another example of viral marketing techniques, that are meant to last for extended periods of time, can be found in the free ebook by Harvey Segal called The Ultimate Supertip.

So my friends, today the mystery deepens, and Jonny who no one knows, is now nowhere to be found!

Here today... gone tomorrow!

Smell The Free Coffee Courtesy of Yahoo

Just found out that Yahoo was giving away a coupon for a free 16 oz coffee for Dunkin' Donuts...

It seems real since Yahoo issued the notice in its September 18th press release...

Yahoo! - Press Release: "Free Coffee Giveaway

As appreciation for the millions of people who start their day with Yahoo!, all users who select Yahoo.com as their start page this Friday, September 22, 2006 will be eligible for a free coffee giveaway from Dunkin' Donuts. Beginning at midnight ET on Friday morning, visitors to http://www.yahoo.com will be able to access and print a coupon good for one free 16 oz. cup of Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee. The coupon is valid only on September 22, and may be redeemed from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time or close of business at any participating Dunkin' Donuts retail locations in the U.S. while supplies last."

We thought we'd let The Ultimate SuperTips readers know about this offer, so hurry on over to Yahoo and get your free coffee so you can wake up!

Blogs, Tags, YouTube, Jonny &Thailand: Is this THE Ultimate Supertip or Just Another Scam?

Just noticed the most popular searches and tags in Technorati and wondered what its all about and what is the difference between the two sets of listings.

Also wondered how this or anything related to blogs could be related to generating traffic?

Can you help me figure it out?

The Top Searches are:
Please correct me if I'm wrong but these are the most often searched words in the Technorati database. I think that means that people are actively looking for any instance of these words in blogs. Why they would do that I guess is because the topic interests them.

Top Tags on the other hand, again from what I understand, are the most popular related words that bloggers want their blogs to be listed under in TechnoRati.
So why is everyone searching for Thailand and Jonny the most but blog about Islam and YouTube?

You'd think you'd try to blog about something someone is interested in searching for?

How does all of this relate to traffic on the web?
How would this apply to Harvey's free ebook The Ultimate SuperTip?

Not sure?

Neither am I? ;-)

All I know is The Ultimate Supertip will help you create traffic without the use of Blogs, Tags, YouTube, Jonny or Thailand!

Seth's Blog

I just found this post and I love it... I want to share it with you, so with all credit to its author and his blog I'd like to introducte you to:

Seth's Blog: "How to Deal with an Angry Customer

Every business encounters angry people. Not disappointed or confused, but actually angry. Here are a few steps you might want to try:

* Acknowledge the anger. You don’t have to agree with it, but in order to have a chance at making it go away, you need to empathize with the person’s anger. You cannot sell something (even a solution) nor can you negotiate with an angry person.

* Talk more quietly and more slowly than the person you’re talking with. Not an exaggerated mantra, but just enough that you will be de-escalating, not escalating.

* Ask the person what it will take to help them not be angry. Repeat what they’re asking for, in your own words.

* Ask them if that will not only solve their problem, but give your organization a chance to delight them.

* If no, then ask again what it will take. (But only once. You'll settle for a benign grudge if you can get one.)

[It’s important to note that so far I haven’t asked you to give them anything or to actually agree with their point of view. Just to understand it and recognize it. You cannot negotiate with an angry person. Doesn’t work.]

* Now, summarize. Human to human, not as a manipulator or someone following a list of steps read on a blog."

This post will NOT apply to your Ultimate Supertips customers because there's nothing about The Ultimate Supertips that will make them mad or angry!

Four Functions of A Headline

Ever tried to write a headline for a sales letter or a news release?

If you have, then you might already know what the four main functions of headlines are. If not then maybe knowing them will make them easier to write headlines.

And at the same time, hopefully gain you more sales.

Four functions of a headline:

1. It gets the reader's attention.
2. It summarizes or tells about the article.
3. It helps organize the news on the page.
4. It indicates the relative importance of a story.

Do Harvey's headlines on The Ultimate SuperTip page fulfill these functions?

Check it out and grade him!
